Day 41Closer to God — 365 Days

The Steps You Didn't Plan

A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

Proverbs 16:9

You can plan your week, your year, your life. And that's good. God gave us the intelligence and the ability to think ahead. But there is a necessary humility in this equation: the One who truly directs your steps is Him.

There are situations that break from the plan — and looking back, you realize the detour was protection. There are doors that never opened — and in time you understood that was mercy. There are encounters that seemed like chance — and were already written in God's hand before you even woke up that day.

Make your plans. Dream. Organize. But let God be the Lord of your steps. Those detours you didn't choose, those delays that frustrated you, those surprises that caught you off guard — He was in all of them. Nothing escapes His sovereignty over your story.

Prayer

Lord, I recognize that Your ways are higher than mine. May I plan with wisdom, and at the same time surrender to Your redirections with confidence. Guide my steps, Lord. Amen.
