Day 346 — Closer to God — 365 Days
Mourning That Turns to Dancing
“Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness.”
Psalm 30:11
There are things you lived through this year that weren't easy. Losses. Goodbyes. Dreams that didn't turn out the way you hoped. And it's all right that you cried. God isn't afraid of your tears — He collects them.
But notice what He does with them: He transforms. He doesn't erase. He transforms. Mourning turns into dancing. Sackcloth — a symbol of grief and humiliation — turns into a garment of joy.
God specializes in reversals. In turning what looked like an ending into a beginning. What looked like failure into the foundation for something new. What looked like defeat into a story that will inspire other people.
You might still be in the middle of the mourning. That's all right. But believe this: the dancing is coming. Not as forgetting what happened — but as the redemption of what happened.
And when you dance, you'll understand what you couldn't understand while you were crying.
Prayer
God, I believe You turn my mourning into dancing. Even when I can't see how, I trust Your hand that converts and renews. I wait for the joy that comes from You. Amen.
