Day 345Closer to God — 365 Days

Paths of Joy

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Psalm 16:11

David wrote this psalm during a time of danger, persecution, uncertainty. And still he spoke of fullness of joy — not shallow joy, but fullness. Not momentary, but everlasting.

The secret? The presence of God.

Not the right place. Not the right season. Not a perfect life. His presence.

And that, my friend, is available right now. Exactly where you are — with the debts that still haven't been resolved, with the longing that still aches, with December's weariness pressing on your shoulders. God's presence doesn't wait for you to reach a better state before coming to you.

It is here. And in it there is joy that the world cannot give and cannot take away.

You can find fullness today. Not in the perfection of your circumstances, but in the depth of meeting with Him.

Prayer

Lord, may Your presence be my home. May I find in You the joy that no situation can give me or take from me. Lead me along the paths of life with You. Amen.
