Day 344 — Closer to God — 365 Days
Eyes on Jesus
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.”
Hebrews 12:2
When Peter walked on the water, it was beautiful — as long as he looked at Jesus. The trouble came when he shifted his eyes to the wind and the waves. And he began to sink.
Life is full of wind and waves. Frightening news, situations that don't resolve, people who disappoint. And in every one of those moments, the invitation is the same: look at Jesus.
Not at your faith — it comes and goes. Not at your discipline — it wavers. Not at your own strength — it runs out. But at Jesus, who is the author of your faith. He began it. And He will finish it.
You don't need to generate faith out of nothing. You need to look at the One who is the source of faith. And looking at Him changes you. It calms the heart. It reorders priorities. It reminds you of what's real.
Look at Him today. Just that.
Prayer
Jesus, when my heart grows restless and my eyes drift away, pull me back to You. You are the beginning and the end of my faith. Don't let me sink. Amen.
