Day 338Closer to God — 365 Days

Eyes on the Goal

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:14

When athletes run a marathon, there comes a moment — usually somewhere past the 30-kilometer mark — when the body screams to stop. The ones who make it to the end aren't the ones who never felt pain. They're the ones who learned to keep their eyes on the finish line even with their feet burning.

Paul knew that feeling. He wrote Philippians from inside a prison. And even so, he spoke of "pressing toward the mark." Not "trying" or "hoping to manage it." Pressing on — with determination, with fixed eyes.

And you? What is your mark? Maybe it's the health you're pursuing. The relationship you're restoring. The faith you're rebuilding. The life you're building, brick by brick, together with God.

That goal is real. That calling is yours. And the God who called you is faithful to bring you there.

Don't look sideways today. Look ahead.

Prayer

Father, when my feet grow heavy and my vision blurs, remind me of the goal You Yourself placed in my heart. Give me strength to press on today, just today. Amen.
