Day 335Closer to God — 365 Days

The Hope That Transforms

And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

1 John 3:3

There's a consequence of hope that few people mention: it transforms behavior. Whoever hopes in God doesn't stay stagnant. They are being purified.

John says that whoever has hope in Christ begins to live differently — with eyes fixed on the purity of the One in whom they hope. Not out of obligation, not out of fear. But because when you gaze at something beautiful long enough, you start to want to look like it.

Christian hope is not just comfort for the present — it is transformation for the future. Whoever hopes in Christ is gradually becoming more like Christ. Gentler, more loving, purer in intention.

This doesn't happen all at once. It's a process, day by day, choice by choice. But the direction is certain: whoever keeps their eyes fixed on Him keeps getting closer to who He is.

Hope is changing you — even if you don't notice it yet.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, let my hope in You transform me. Let me become more like You each day. Purify my heart as I wait. Amen.
