Day 329 — Closer to God — 365 Days
The Mercy That Renews
“It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22-23
This was Jeremiah too — the prophet who watched everything he loved be destroyed. And even in Lamentations, in the middle of his weeping, he found a rock: God's mercies are new every morning.
Every morning. Not once a week. Not when you deserve it. Every morning, like the sun that rises without you having to ask, God's mercy is there — new, fresh, enough for the day that is beginning.
How many things in your life run out? Patience, energy, money, strength. But there is something that never runs out: the mercy of God. It has no end. It does not diminish with use. It never grows tired of being asked for.
Tomorrow morning, when the day begins — before you do anything at all — mercy will already be there, waiting for you. That is the faithfulness of God.
Prayer
Faithful Father, thank You that Your mercies are new every morning. Let me begin each day receiving what only You can give. Great is Your faithfulness. Amen.
