Day 321 — Closer to God — 365 Days
The Anchor of the Soul
“Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;”
Hebrews 6:19
An anchor doesn't stop the storm. It doesn't calm the waves, doesn't make the wind cease. But it holds the boat in place so that, no matter how fierce the tempest, it doesn't drift away.
Hope in God is like that for your soul. It won't eliminate every difficulty. But it will hold you in the right place when everything around you is shaking.
And notice where this anchor is fixed: not at the bottom of the sea of circumstances — but within the veil, in the very presence of God. Your hope is anchored in God Himself. In His unchanging nature. In His word that never fails.
When the storm hits, many people run to anchors that don't hold: people, money, quick fixes. But only one anchor truly holds the soul in the right place when the sea grows wild.
You are secure. Even in the middle of the storm, the anchor holds firm.
Prayer
Father, anchor me in You today. When the waves crash, remind me that my soul is secure in Your presence. Don't let me drift. Amen.
