Day 320 — Closer to God — 365 Days
When the Promises Are Slow to Come
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”
Habakkuk 2:3
There are promises God placed in your heart a long time ago. Maybe years ago. And you look at them and ask: is it still going to happen? Are they still standing?
Habakkuk lived through that very struggle. He watched injustice prosper, watched God's plans seem to move in slow motion, and stood at his watchpost waiting for an answer. And God replied: write the vision. It will surely come to pass. Wait for it.
There's a difference between delay and cancellation. When God is slow, it isn't because He changed His mind. It's because there are things to prepare — in you, in the circumstances, in the others involved — that take time.
A seed isn't dead just because it hasn't sprouted yet. It's working beneath the soil, where eyes can't reach. And at the right moment, once the root is deep enough, the shoot will break through the ground.
Don't give up on the promise before it's fulfilled.
Prayer
Lord, the vision seems slow in coming. But I choose to trust that You have not forgotten. Teach me to wait without losing faith. Amen.
