Day 314 — Closer to God — 365 Days
Soaring Like Eagles
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31
There's a beautiful image hidden in this verse. The eagle doesn't fight against the wind — it uses the air currents to rise. While other birds beat their wings in desperate effort, the eagle spreads its wings and lets the wind carry it.
Waiting on God is like that. It isn't passivity — it's trusting the currents He controls. It's ceasing to beat your wings by your own strength and learning to let yourself be carried by His power.
Strength is renewed for those who learn this secret. Not the ones who strive harder, not the ones who wake up earlier, not the ones who grit their teeth tighter. But the ones who wait on the Lord — who stop long enough to receive what only comes from above.
You may be tired right now. You may feel like you can't take one more step. God knows that weariness. He promises renewal to those who wait. Not necessarily tomorrow — but in His timing, which is always the right time.
Spread your wings. Let Him be the wind.
Prayer
Lord, I am weary of fighting in my own strength. Renew me. Teach me to wait on You and to fly on Your wind, not on my own effort. Amen.
