Day 312 — Closer to God — 365 Days
The God of Hope
“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”
Romans 15:13
Paul didn't say "the powerful God" or "the just God" in this verse — even though He is all of that. He said "the God of hope." As if hope were one of the most essential marks of God's character.
When you draw close to God, hope isn't forced. It rises naturally, like a plant growing near the light. Because God is the source from which hope springs.
And notice Paul's request: not just that you would have hope, but that you would abound in it. That it would overflow. That it would spill over. That it would be contagious to the people around you.
The world is thirsty for real hope — not shallow positivity, but the hope that endures the storm. That hope comes from only one place: the presence of the Holy Spirit filling you with what only God can give.
Come close. Let Him fill you. Abound.
Prayer
God of hope, fill me today. I don't want to pretend I'm okay — I want to truly be, through Your presence. Overflow Your joy and Your peace in me. Amen.
