Day 311 — Closer to God — 365 Days
Waiting and Receiving
“The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.”
Lamentations 3:25
Jeremiah wrote this verse amid the ruins of Jerusalem. The city was destroyed, the people in exile, and he himself was brokenhearted. It is in that setting that he declares: the Lord is good to those who wait for Him.
This is not naive optimism. It is faith tested by fire.
Waiting for God is not folding your arms and doing nothing. It is acting faithfully in the small steps, while the heart stays turned toward Him. It is seeking His face when the heart would rather have quick solutions. It is trusting that God's silence is not abandonment.
There is a special beauty in someone who has learned to wait. That soul grows gentler, deeper, more able to hear God in the small things. Waiting is not punishment — it is a school. And whoever finishes that course in faith learns what no shortcut could teach.
Are you waiting today? Good news: God is good exactly for you.
Prayer
Lord, teach me to wait without losing heart. I want to seek Your face more than I seek answers. Reveal Yourself to me in this waiting. Amen.
