Day 30Closer to God — 365 Days

Gratitude as a Posture

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Giving thanks in everything isn't pretending everything is fine. It's a posture — a decision to see God's presence and faithfulness even in circumstances you didn't choose.

Gratitude doesn't cancel out the pain. But it changes the angle you're looking from.

When you manage to give thanks even in the middle of something hard, you're not being naive — you're being strategic. You're refusing to let circumstances define your perception of who God is and what He's doing.

And there's more: gratitude feeds faith. When you remember what God has already done, it becomes easier to trust what He's still going to do. His track record of faithfulness is long — and it includes your life.

Tonight, before you sleep, try listing three things you can give thanks for. Small, big, invisible. God is in all of them.

Prayer

God, give me eyes for gratitude. Help me give thanks not only when everything is fine, but in everything — because You are present in everything. Amen.
