Day 292 — Closer to God — 365 Days
The Open Hand of God
“Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.”
Psalm 145:16
That image is so beautiful: God's open hand. Not closed, not hidden, not withholding what you need as punishment. Open. Satisfying the desire of every living thing. That means when you're in need, God's hand is already open toward you. The question isn't whether He will provide — the question is whether we will believe it. Sometimes we clench our own hands so tightly — trying to control, trying to fix things on our own, trying to secure our own provision — that we can't receive what He's offering. Gratitude begins with open hands: open to receive what God gives, open to recognize that everything comes from Him, open to trust. What if you opened your hands today — literally, as a gesture of surrender — and said, "I receive what You have for me today, Lord"?
Prayer
God, may I never close my hands to what You want to give me. I open my heart and my hands to Your provision today. Thank You for taking care of me. Amen.
