Day 280 — Closer to God — 365 Days
Look at the Birds
“Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?”
Matthew 6:26
Jesus used the birds to teach us something anxiety keeps trying to make us forget: you are worth so much to the Father. The birds don't plan, don't store up reserves — and God feeds them every day. And you, who were made in the image of God, who are a beloved son or daughter, whose name is written on His heart — how much more will He not care for you? Anxiety makes us feel invisible, like our needs are too big, like maybe God is too busy. But Jesus looks at the birds flying and says, "Look. If He cares for them, He cares for you." The next time worry strikes, step outside for a moment, look at the sky, watch a bird, and let creation remind you of what your mind forgot: you have a Father who cares.
Prayer
Father, forgive my anxiety. Help me see the signs of Your provision all around me. I know I'm worth so much to You — and that is enough. Amen.
