Day 278Closer to God — 365 Days

The Firstfruits of What You Have

Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase.

Proverbs 3:9

Honoring God with what we have is an act of faith before it's a financial act. When we give the firstfruits — the first, the best — we're saying with our actions: "I believe you provide. I believe that what's left in your hands is more than everything in mine." This goes against the human instinct to save first and give what's left. But God invites us to a different logic, a Kingdom logic. And the next verse completes the thought: "so shall thy barns be filled with plenty" (Proverbs 3:10). It's not magic — it's a real spiritual dynamic. When we honor God with what He Himself gave us, we make room for Him to keep providing. It's not about the amount you have, but about the posture of your heart. Offer what you have with gratitude, and trust that the Owner of everything will take care of the rest.

Prayer

Lord, I want to honor You with what I have, not with the leftovers. Help me trust that when I give, I won't lack — because You are my provider. Amen.
