God's Things First

It's easy to reverse the order. We wake up thinking about bills, the kids, work, our plans — and God gets pushed to later. But Jesus was very clear: seek the Kingdom first. Not because everything else doesn't matter, but because when we put God at the center, everything else finds its place. Seeking the Kingdom isn't about living with your head in the clouds, ignoring reality. It's starting the day with your heart turned toward Him. It's asking, "Lord, what do you want from me today?" before asking what the world wants. When we do this, something changes. The circumstances don't necessarily change right away — but our peace changes. Our perspective changes. And God, faithful to His word, adds what we need in due time.
