Day 27 — Closer to God — 365 Days
The Work Is Still in Progress
“he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
Philippians 1:6
I keep coming back to this verse because it needs to be repeated — because we forget.
You look at yourself and see unfinished work. The same struggles from years ago, the same weaknesses you promised to overcome and still haven't. And it can feel like either God stopped the work or it never really existed.
But faith tells us: the work continues.
Think of a construction site. In the middle of the project, it looks uglier than it did at the start. Scaffolding everywhere, dust, noise, walls that don't exist yet. Anyone who doesn't know what's being built there might think it's being demolished. But whoever holds the blueprint knows: this is construction, not demolition.
You are under construction. Not being torn down. The parts that still look like a mess are exactly where the Architect is working with the most care.
He will finish it. That's a promise — not a possibility.
Prayer
Lord, help me not to confuse construction with demolition. I trust in the plan You have for me — give me patience with the work still in progress. Amen.
