Day 26Closer to God — 365 Days

When the House Feels Like Too Much

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Philippians 4:13

This is probably the most quoted phrase on mugs and kitchen decor. And there's a reason for that: it's true. But it's deeper than it looks in cursive on a coffee cup.

Paul wrote this while talking about knowing how to live in plenty and in need. About having learned to be content in every circumstance. "I can do all things" isn't a blank check for personal achievement — it's the capacity to get through anything without breaking on the inside.

The household tasks that never end. The child who's going through a hard season. The exhaustion of caring for everyone. The day that looks just like the one before, with no glamour, no recognition.

You can get through this day too. Not by your own determination, but because Christ strengthens you — in this moment, in this task, in this place where no one else sees, but He sees.

Nothing He calls you to do, you do alone.

Prayer

Christ, strengthen me today in the small things — the ones that don't feel heroic but demand as much from me as the big ones. I want to do everything in Your strength. Amen.
