Day 243Closer to God — 365 Days

A Life That Glorifies

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 5:16

In the end, the wider purpose of your whole life has one destination: the glory of God.

Not your fame. Not your legacy. Not the world's recognition. But that the people around you, watching your life, would say: "Her God is real."

That's freeing, because it takes the pressure off of you. You don't have to be perfect to glorify God — sometimes it's exactly in your weakest moments, when you depend completely on Him and still remain standing, that the glory shines brightest.

May your kindness make someone ask where it comes from. May your peace in chaos make someone seek the source. May your forgiveness in an impossible place make someone believe there's a God who transforms hearts.

Your life is a sermon. Let Him be the subject.

Prayer

Father, let my life glorify You in every detail. Let the people around me, as they watch me, find reason to seek You. Let me be transparent enough that You show through. Amen.
