Day 242Closer to God — 365 Days

Trusting Even Without Understanding

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding:

Proverbs 3:5

Sometimes purpose doesn't make logical sense. God asks you to go, and you don't know where. He asks you to let go, and you don't know what you'll hold onto instead. He asks you to trust, and the situation offers no visible guarantee.

And that's exactly where the calling deepens: in a trust that goes beyond understanding.

"Lean not on your own understanding" isn't a criticism of your intelligence. It's an invitation to a trust deeper than logic can reach. Because God's plan often looks illogical from the inside.

Abraham didn't understand where he was going. Noah didn't understand rain that hadn't fallen yet. Mary didn't understand how a virgin could conceive. But they obeyed before they understood.

And you can do the same. You don't need every answer to take the next step. You need to know the One who gives the orders.

Prayer

Lord, when I don't understand, I choose to trust. My whole heart is Yours. Don't let me rely on what I can see, but on Your faithful character. Amen.
