Day 237Closer to God — 365 Days

When You Don't Feel Called

For many are called, but few are chosen.

Matthew 22:14

There are days when your calling feels as distant as a cloud on the horizon. You look at other people who seem so sure of what they're doing, so passionate, so full of purpose — and wonder why you don't feel the same clarity.

But purpose isn't always a feeling. It's often a decision.

Sometimes you choose to be faithful even when you feel nothing special. You choose to serve even without motivation. You choose to stay with what God has placed in your hand, even when it seems small and unimpressive.

And in that unglamorous faithfulness, something is being built. Character is formed. Dependence on God grows. And one day you look back and see that while you were simply obeying, God was building something bigger than you ever imagined.

Don't wait to feel it before you act. Act on what you know. God honors faithful obedience, even the kind that starts without enthusiasm.

Prayer

Lord, on the days when I don't feel the calling, make me faithful to what I know. Let my obedience be an offering, even when my feelings don't follow along. Amen.
