Day 229 — Closer to God — 365 Days
The Calling in Small Things
“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.”
Luke 16:10
A calling rarely begins big. It begins small, almost unnoticeable. It begins in the faithfulness of each day, in the tasks no one sees, in the choices you make when no one is watching.
That can feel disappointing to someone hoping for an epic mission. But there is enormous beauty in daily faithfulness: that is where character is formed. That is where God prepares you for the next step.
Don't underestimate the small things. The mother who prays for her children every morning is fulfilling an eternal calling. The teacher who believes in the student no one else believes in is being an instrument in God's hands. The person who cares for aging parents with patience and love is carrying out a sacred vocation.
The greatness of a calling isn't measured by the size of its audience. It's measured by the faithfulness with which you respond to God in the place where you are today.
Be faithful in little. God will take care of much.
Prayer
Father, let me be faithful in small things. Let me not despise the days of little, knowing that it is in them You are preparing me for what's to come. Amen.
