Day 227Closer to God — 365 Days

The Gifts You've Received

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us.

Romans 12:6

You have a gift. Maybe more than one. And maybe you don't recognize it as a gift precisely because it's too natural — because you do it effortlessly, because it always seemed obvious to you.

But what comes easily to you may be exactly what someone around you needs most. Your ability to listen. Your way of teaching without complicating things. Your knack for organizing chaos. Your talent for creating beauty with your hands. Your intuition for comforting someone who's struggling.

Gifts don't need a stage to be used. Most of the gifts that change lives happen in small rooms, in one-on-one conversations, in quiet gestures of love.

Today, instead of complaining about what you don't have, look at what's already there, inside you. Ask God how He wants to use it. Sometimes the gift was just waiting for you to stop diminishing it.

Prayer

Father, thank You for the gifts You've placed in me. Open my eyes to recognize them and give me courage to use them for Your glory. Amen.
