Day 226 — Closer to God — 365 Days
Doing Everything for Him
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
Colossians 3:23
There's a quiet transformation that happens when you change who you're working for. The job doesn't change, the task doesn't change — the recipient does.
Washing dishes as unto the Lord. Answering emails as unto the Lord. Caring for your children as unto the Lord. Serving the difficult customer as unto the Lord.
Suddenly, nothing is too small. Nothing is insignificant. Because if He is the recipient, everything has dignity.
This is one of the greatest secrets of purpose: it's not where you are, but for whom you live. A person who mops the floor as an offering to God is just as much in her purpose as the pastor in the pulpit.
Today, choose one task you usually do on autopilot — and do it as unto Him. Give your best in that moment. Not for human recognition, not for anyone's approval. For the joy of serving the Lord with everything you are.
Prayer
Lord, may I do everything as unto You. May no moment be wasted because I was present only in body. I make of each day an offering to You. Amen.
