Day 21 — Closer to God — 365 Days
The Weight You Don't Need to Carry
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
1 Peter 5:7
There's a difference between responsibility and weight.
You have responsibilities — to your family, your work, your health, your faith. That's real and legitimate. But there's something that goes beyond that: the weight of anxiety, of constant worry, of "what if things go wrong?" That weight was never meant for you to carry.
"Cast all your care upon Him." All of it. Not just the small things, not just the ones you can no longer bear. All of it.
And the foundation of that surrender isn't naivety — it's the certainty that He cares for you. Not a generic kind of care, the "God cares for humanity" type. A personal, attentive care that includes your name.
You can be responsible with your choices and, at the same time, not carry the weight of the outcome. Do your part with excellence — and leave the rest in the hands of the Father who cares.
What are you carrying that He wants to hold for you?
Prayer
God, I confess I'm carrying more than I should. Today I hand over to You, specifically, [whatever is weighing on me]. I trust that You care for me with attention. Amen.
