Day 205 — Closer to God — 365 Days
Comforted to Comfort
“Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”
2 Corinthians 1:4
Paul reveals something surprising here about the purpose of pain: the comfort you receive from God in your affliction becomes a resource to comfort someone else.
This doesn't diminish what you're going through. But it opens up a perspective that transforms everything: your experience of pain and healing isn't only yours. One day, what you've learned here — how God moves, how He sustains, what He does in the dark — will be exactly what someone around you needs to hear.
People who have been through the depths and were held up by God carry a special authority to speak to those in the depths now. Not because they suffered more, but because they know the Comforter up close.
Your pain is being turned into a resource. You are being equipped for a mission you don't even fully know yet.
Prayer
Father, whatever comfort I receive from You, use it to comfort others. May my pain serve Your purpose. Amen.
