Day 194 — Closer to God — 365 Days
Sowing in Tears
“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.”
Psalm 126:5
There is something both beautiful and deeply serious in this verse. It doesn't say that whoever sows in tears will see the rain stop before the harvest. It says the harvest comes anyway.
Sowing in tears means continuing. It's praying even when you don't feel like it. Going to church with a heavy heart. Serving when you're exhausted. Trusting when you can't see a way out. Continuing to plant even when the soil looks dry and the sky looks closed.
And the promise is that this sowing is not in vain. There is a harvest kept for those who persevere through the weeping. Not because God enjoys watching you suffer, but because He knows the deepest roots grow in the hardest seasons.
Joy is being kept for you. The harvest is on its way. Keep sowing, even if your hands are trembling and your eyes are wet. It's worth it.
Prayer
God, I am sowing with tears. But I trust the harvest You are preparing. Give me strength to keep going. Amen.
