Day 193Closer to God — 365 Days

The Years the Locust Has Eaten

And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.

Joel 2:25

This verse is one of the most astonishing promises in the entire Bible. God speaks of giving back years. Not days, not weeks — years that were consumed by destruction.

Maybe you look back and feel you lost important years. Years in a relationship that wasn't good for you. Years paralyzed by fear. Years in the wrong job, in the wrong city, making decisions that brought loss. And now you wonder: is it too late?

It isn't. God doesn't say, "I'm sorry, it's gone." He says, "I will restore." And the God who created time can do in a short time what would naturally take years to happen. He compresses, restores, accelerates — when He chooses to.

Your years are not lost forever. They are in the hands of a God who knows how to pull off impossible rescues. Don't give up on the story He is writing in your life.

Prayer

Lord, I place the years that feel lost into Your hands. I believe You can restore them. Do this, Father. Amen.
