Day 183Closer to God — 365 Days

Always Closer

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

James 4:8

This last day of the month is an invitation — and also a promise.

Draw near. Come closer. Take a step toward God, even if it's small, even if it's hesitant, even if you don't quite know how.

And the promise is immediate, with no complicated conditions: He will draw near to you. You draw close, He draws close. You seek, He lets Himself be found. It's the dance of intimacy — you're not chasing someone who's running away. You're responding to the invitation of a Father who already has His arms open.

Throughout this month, we've talked about prayer, about the Word, about the secret meeting place with God, about His still, small voice, about the peace that surpasses understanding. All of it is about one thing: intimacy.

There is nothing more valuable than knowing God. Not just knowing about Him — knowing Him. That is the fullest life there is. And it begins with exactly what James says: draw near.

So draw near today. And tomorrow. And next month. And forever.

Prayer

Father, here I am. Drawing near to You — with all that I am and all that I'm not. Thank You for always drawing close to me. I want to know You more each day. Amen.
