Day 181Closer to God — 365 Days

The Peace That Makes No Sense

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:7

There is a peace that only God can give. It's not the peace that comes when everything gets resolved — anyone can have that kind. It's the peace that arrives in the middle of chaos, before any solution, with no rational explanation at all.

If you've ever lived through this, you know exactly what I mean. A situation that's objectively terrible, and yet an inexplicable calm inside. A heart that should be in pieces, and yet a peace that makes no sense.

That's the peace of God. It surpasses understanding — meaning neither you nor anyone else can explain it. It's supernatural.

And the promise is that this peace guards your heart and your mind. Like a soldier standing guard, it watches over you while you rest in it.

This peace is born in prayer. It comes when you bring everything to God with gratitude and trust. Not as the automatic result of a formula, but as a gift from the Father to the son or daughter who seeks Him.

Prayer

Father, may Your peace that surpasses understanding guard my heart today. In the things I don't understand, may I find in You the rest I'm searching for. Amen.
