Day 163 — Closer to God — 365 Days
The Book That Never Leaves Your Lips
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night.”
Joshua 1:8
God was preparing Joshua for an enormous task — entering a land full of obstacles, leading a people, facing battles. And God's counsel wasn't about military strategy. It was: don't let go of the Word.
That says a lot about what God prioritizes. Before skill, before talent, before planning — intimacy with His Word.
"Let it not depart from your lips" is a very visual expression: the Word so present that you speak it, quote it, murmur it. It becomes part of your natural vocabulary, like the voice of someone you love that keeps echoing in your mind throughout the day.
What a beautiful challenge for our lives. Not the Bible as a decoration on the shelf — but as a constant companion, like bread that nourishes us every day. Because it's from the Word that the strength comes for whatever battle you're facing today.
Prayer
Father, may Your Word never feel foreign to me. May it be on my lips, in my heart, in my mind — guiding every choice. Amen.
