Day 160 — Closer to God — 365 Days
A Lamp Unto My Feet
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
Psalm 119:105
A lamp for your feet doesn't light up the whole horizon. It lights up the next step. Only the next one.
Maybe you're wanting to see the whole plan — where you'll be five years from now, how that situation will work out, what path God is tracing. And the Word seems to offer just enough for one step.
But that's exactly where faith operates. Not on the horizon we want to see — on the step we're able to take right now.
God's Word isn't a GPS map that shows the entire route. It's a lantern you carry, one that lights the ground as you move forward. You have to keep walking in order to keep seeing.
So if you're in a season of uncertainty, open the Bible. Not to solve everything at once, but to receive enough light for today. And trust that when you take this step, there will be light for the next one.
Prayer
Father, Your Word is all I need for today. Help me trust the light I have, and take the next step in faith. Amen.
