Day 152 — Closer to God — 365 Days
Love That Never Fails
“It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.”
Lamentations 3:22
Throughout this month you've encountered the love of God from many angles: eternal, unfailing, covering, seeking, forgiving, non-condemning, sustaining. Today, near the end of the month, it's time to settle on one more facet: this love never fails.
The Lord's compassions fail not. To fail means to stop, to break off, to come to an end. And the promise is that this never happens. The love of God has no final stop.
In your whole life up to this point — in the moments when He seemed silent, on the days when prayer seemed to go nowhere, in the times you felt completely alone — His love did not fail. It remained present, even when you couldn't feel it.
That is faithfulness. A love that doesn't depend on circumstances to exist. One that is there even when you don't notice it.
And it will be there tomorrow. And next year. And forever.
Prayer
God, thank You for a love that never fails. In the moments when I can't feel it, let me trust it. Your compassions have no end. Amen.
