Day 143 — Closer to God — 365 Days
The Love That Seeks the Lost
“Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?”
Luke 15:8
Jesus told this story to show the heart of God for whoever is lost. A coin has no awareness that it's lost — yet the woman searches for it anyway. With a lamp. With a broom. With diligence.
And when she finds it, she doesn't toss it in a drawer with indifference. She calls her friends and neighbors together to celebrate.
Have you ever felt like a lost coin? Like someone left out, who drifted away, who no longer knows if there's a place for them in God's story?
This is the portrait of God searching for you. Not waiting for you to show up. Going after you. With light. With attention. With determination.
And when you are found — even if you yourself barely realize how lost you were — there is joy. A joy that God calls others to celebrate.
You matter that much to Him.
Prayer
God, thank You for not waiting for me to find my own way back. May I let myself be found by You every day, no matter what corner I'm in. Amen.
