Day 141Closer to God — 365 Days

As Far As the East Is From the West

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Psalm 103:12

East and west never meet. No matter how far you walk, they keep moving farther apart from each other. It's a distance with no measure, no end.

That's how far God has removed your transgressions from you.

David didn't say God put them behind His back. He didn't say God set them aside for now. He said God removed them as far as the east is from the west — a distance that cannot be calculated.

That is God's forgiveness: complete, final, irrevocable. Not a temporary reconciliation that can be undone the next time you fail. A permanent separation between you and your forgiven sin.

You may be carrying today mistakes that were confessed years ago, with the feeling that they're still right there beside you. But Psalm 103 says no. They have been removed. Far away.

Receive this forgiveness today as a concrete truth, not just as a beautiful phrase.

Prayer

Father, may I not bring back what You have removed. What You have forgiven is forgiven. Help me walk free of guilt that no longer belongs to me. Amen.
