Day 139Closer to God — 365 Days

He Will Not Abandon You

And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

Deuteronomy 31:8

Moses spoke these words to Joshua before he died. It was the moment when the leader of his whole life was leaving the scene — and Joshua would have to carry on without him.

Have you ever felt that way? When someone who was your support was gone — through death, through distance, through separation — and suddenly the ground felt less certain?

God speaks into that moment: he will not fail you, nor forsake you. He goes before you.

That means that wherever you arrive — in a new situation, in an unfamiliar fear, in an uncertain future — God is already there. He doesn't send you into the unknown without going ahead of you.

Today, if you're facing something that scares you, know this: God is already there. The place you haven't yet reached, the situation that hasn't yet arrived — He is already ahead, preparing the way.

You will never arrive anywhere alone.

Prayer

God, when the road ahead feels uncertain, remind me that You are already there. May I walk with courage, knowing I am never forsaken. Amen.
