Day 137Closer to God — 365 Days

The Greatest Love of All

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

This might be the most well-known verse in the Bible. But knowing isn't the same as feeling. It's easy to repeat out of habit — it's another thing to let the real weight of these words settle on you.

"That he gave." To give His own Son. He didn't send an angel, didn't send a message, didn't make an exception — He gave the Son. The most precious thing that exists in any relationship.

And the reason? He loved. Not because the world deserved it, not because there was something to gain, not because there was a bargain. Because He loved.

And this love isn't just history — it's present tense. "Whosoever believeth in him should not perish." That includes you. Today. With everything you are and everything you carry.

Today, instead of letting this verse pass before your eyes on autopilot, try staying with it. Repeat it slowly: "God loved me like this. Me. Today."

Prayer

Father, may John 3:16 not just be a sentence I know — may it be a truth that reaches me today, again. Thank You for loving me like this. Amen.
