Day 126Closer to God — 365 Days

Saved by Grace

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Ephesians 2:8

Grace is one of the most beautiful and hardest concepts to grasp. Because we live in a world of merit — you get what you deserve, you earn what you have. And then grace arrives and says: no. Here it's different.

You didn't earn salvation. You didn't do something impressive that convinced God. You weren't good enough to deserve it. Grace doesn't work that way — it's a gift. Something given, not a prize won.

This can be freeing or uncomfortable, depending on how you're feeling today. If you carry guilt, this is relief: you were never supposed to earn it anyway. If you're a striver, this might be a challenge: to stop trying to prove something and simply receive.

Receiving is an act of humility and faith. It says: "I know I wasn't enough. And I trust that You are enough for me."

Today you don't need to work to earn God's love. You already have it.

Prayer

Lord, help me receive Your grace with open arms, without trying to earn what has already been given to me. Thank You for a gift I don't deserve and cannot lose. Amen.
