Day 12 — Closer to God — 365 Days
One Thing: Press Forward
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:13-14
Paul wrote this from a prison. Not from a sunny porch with a cup of coffee in hand. From a closed, confined, uncertain place.
And he chose one thing: to press forward.
The past he had left behind was immense — serious mistakes, an identity that needed to be completely rewritten, people who distrusted him. And yet, he didn't remain a hostage to his history.
What is the "behind" you need to forget? Not erase as if it never happened — but release. Set down the weight so you can run. The past can inform your story without dictating your future.
The goal lies ahead. The prize isn't earthly — it's God's calling. It's becoming who He always meant for you to be. And that goal is worth any journey, even one that passes through places you would never have chosen.
One thing. Press forward.
Prayer
Father, free me from what's behind me. Give me courage to press on toward the goal You've placed in my life. I want to run with joy. Amen.
