Day 115Closer to God — 365 Days

Guarded by Peace

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:7

There are situations with no rational explanation for the peace you feel. Everything suggests you should be in a panic — and yet there's a calm you didn't manufacture. That's the sign of the peace that surpasses understanding.

It doesn't make logical sense. The numbers don't add up, the relationship hasn't improved, the diagnosis is still there — and yet there's peace. Because this peace doesn't come from resolved circumstances. It comes from a presence.

"Shall keep your hearts and minds." The peace of God works like a sentinel. It stands at the door and won't let fear in without permission. It won't let anxiety settle in unannounced.

But to receive this peace, Paul says first: be anxious for nothing, present your requests to God. Peace arrives after prayer, after you lay in His lap what you were carrying alone.

Let it go today. Talk to Him. And wait for the peace that has no explanation, but is real.

Prayer

Father, I bring my requests to You now. Guard my heart and my mind with the peace that only You can give. Amen.
