Day 109 — Closer to God — 365 Days
Strong and Courageous
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Joshua 1:9
God repeated the same instruction to Joshua three times in just a few verses. Three times. Because God knows how we are: we need to hear things more than once. Fear is stubborn, and encouragement needs to be even more stubborn.
Today you may need to hear again what you've already heard before. That's not a lack of faith — it's being human. Faith feeds on constant renewal. That's why you return to the Word. Because truth needs to be reaffirmed daily.
"Be strong and of good courage." In Hebrew, hazak ve'ematz — be strong and courageous. It's a double command. Strength to act. Courage not to give up halfway through.
You have both available — not because you manufactured them, but because the LORD your God is with you. The same presence that walked with Joshua across the Jordan walks with you today.
Wherever you go.
Prayer
Father, wherever I go today, remind me that I don't go alone. Your presence is enough for me. Give me strength and good courage. Amen.
