Day 105 — Closer to God — 365 Days
In the Day I Cried Out
“In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.”
Psalm 138:3
The psalmist did something simple: he cried out. And God answered. Not with a complicated response, not with a condition, not with a "wait." He answered.
And what did God do? He strengthened him with strength in his soul. He didn't instantly solve every problem. But He gave strength to face them. There are days when what you need most isn't for everything to be resolved, but to receive strength to keep going.
This is a prayer you can pray today: God, I'm not asking for everything to change right now. I'm asking for strength for today.
Crying out isn't weakness. It's the most courageous attitude of a person who knows where their strength comes from. Great heroes of faith were great criers-out — David, Elijah, Paul, Jesus in Gethsemane. They weren't ashamed to need God.
And you don't need to be ashamed of that either. Cry out. He answers. He strengthens. Today, just as He did with the psalmist, He will do for you.
Prayer
Lord, today I cry out to You. Answer me and strengthen my soul with the vigor only You can give. Amen.
