Day 103 — Closer to God — 365 Days
The God Who Girds Me With Strength
“It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.”
Psalm 18:32
To gird means to wrap, to bind, to prepare for battle. In ancient times, a warrior was girded before entering combat — the garment fastened so it wouldn't hinder movement, the sword securely fixed. It was the act of being equipped.
God does this for you. Before you leave the house, before the day begins, before the day's battle even appears — He is already equipping you. His Word prepares you. Prayer positions you. His presence wraps around you.
And more: He makes your way perfect. Not the path you planned, but the path He chose for you — which is always better, even when it hurts more at first.
You aren't heading into the day unarmed. You're going girded with strength from the One who knows every step ahead of you.
That means the day's surprises don't surprise God. He's already been there. He already knows. He's already prepared what you'll need. Trust the God who girds you.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for equipping me for every day. I trust that You make my way perfect, even when I can't see it. Amen.
