Day 102Closer to God — 365 Days

Courage for the Journey

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Deuteronomy 31:6

"He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee." Among the most repeated promises in the Bible, this is one of the most powerful — because it speaks to our greatest fear: abandonment.

Every person, at some point, knows that feeling. Of being alone in the middle of a crowd. Of carrying a weight no one else sees. Of screaming inside without anyone hearing. The fear of abandonment is real and deep.

And God looks straight at that place and says: no. I will not leave you. I will not forsake you. Not even when you fail. Not even when you falter. Not even when you don't deserve it. I stay.

This is not a conditional promise. There is no "as long as you." It is unconditional, like His love for you.

So go. Face what needs to be faced. Take the step you've been putting off. Not because you are brave, but because the God who goes with you is faithful.

Prayer

Father, thank You for never abandoning me. May this certainty give me courage to face what's ahead of me today. Amen.
