Day 10Closer to God — 365 Days

I Have Called You By Name

But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

Isaiah 43:1

There's a level of intimacy in calling someone by name. It's not a crowd, not a "hey, you there." It's personal knowledge, a deliberate choice.

God calls you by name.

Not by your job title, not by what you produce, not by the family you carry. He knows you — with all your fears, your contradictions, your ugly days and your moments of glory. And even so He calls you: "thou art mine."

Belonging to God isn't a title you earn through good behavior. It's a reality that has existed since He created you. He formed you to be His. That doesn't change when you fail. It doesn't vanish when you doubt. It's an identity no one can take from you.

Today, in the moments when you feel lost or small, remember that you have a name. And He knows that name better than you know yourself.

Prayer

God, thank You for knowing me by name and for saying that I am Yours. Help me live from that identity and not let the world define who I am. Amen.
