Day 9 — Closer to God — 365 Days
Commit Your Way
“Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
Psalm 37:5
Committing something feels simple when everything is going well. It's when life tightens its grip that we discover how much we're still holding onto the reins.
Committing your way isn't crossing your arms and doing nothing. It's the difference between someone carrying an enormous weight alone and someone walking beside a much stronger person, letting that person carry what they can't bear.
You can still move. You can still act, decide, work. But the responsibility for the outcome, for the timing, for "it's going to work out" — that you place in God's hands.
"Trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass." What a promise. He will do it. Not necessarily the way you planned, not necessarily on the timeline you wanted. But He will do what is best for your story.
What weight are you still trying to carry on your own? Today is a good day to open your hands.
Prayer
Lord, I confess I tend to want to control everything. Today I choose to commit my way into Your hands. Trust and act — I believe in Your faithfulness. Amen.
