Noah's Ark

In those days, the earth was filled with violence, and every inclination of the human heart was only evil. But there was one man who walked with God: Noah.

God decided to start over — and chose to save one family, along with a pair of every kind of animal. The command was clear: build a massive ark of cypress wood, covered with pitch inside and out. Noah had never seen rain fall from the sky. Even so, he obeyed.

For decades he cut, hammered, and built, while the sky gave no sign of rain. When the ark was finished, the animals came, the doors were shut — and the waters came. Forty days and forty nights.

When it was all over, a dove brought back an olive branch, and God painted a bow in the sky: the promise that He would never again destroy the earth with a flood.

“But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.”

💡 Did you know?

  • The ark was about 150 meters (nearly 500 feet) long — longer than a football field. It had no rudder and no sail: it wasn't built to sail, but to float, kept safe by God alone.
  • The sign of the covenant — the rainbow — appears right after the storm. God chose as a reminder something that only exists when sunlight passes through rain.

✝️ Connection to Christ

Just as the ark kept Noah safe from the judgment of the waters, Christ is the ark of salvation: whoever enters Him passes safely through judgment. The New Testament itself makes this connection (1 Peter 3:20–21).
