3Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
Verse explanation
Tradition attributes this psalm to Moses, from the era when the people wandered in the desert with no permanent land. Calling God our “dwelling place” across generations contrasts human instability with divine permanence, the theme that opens the whole psalm.
