Day 74 — Mornings with God
The Presence That Transforms the Ordinary
“And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:”
Exodus 13:21
God led an entire nation through the wilderness with a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. It was visible. It was constant. It was impossible to ignore.
Today we don't see the pillar of cloud, but God's presence hasn't become any less real — it has simply changed form. He guides through His Spirit, through the Word, through the peace that confirms the right path, through the people He places along the way.
The question is: have you been paying attention? God's presence transforms the ordinary. That conversation you thought was casual may have been providence. That book that fell into your hands, that word from a friend, that sense of stillness when you prayed — all of it can be the pillar of cloud in your day.
Ask for eyes to see. God is guiding. He always has been. You just need to learn to recognize the way He shows up in your life.
Prayer
Lord, open my eyes to see Your presence in my ordinary day. Guide me along the paths I should follow, and help me recognize Your voice. Amen.
